About Cradle Highlander
Cradle Highlander is a family-owned business offering secluded, self-contained mountain cabin accommodation at the foot of Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. The cabins are conveniently located just a 5 minute walk from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre and a 5 minute drive from the national park entrance.
Each of the cabins at Cradle Highlander is unique and built from Tasmanian timber in a rustic style to complement the natural bushland setting. There are 16 cabins, some built just for two and others that can accommodate a family or small group. The cabins have cosy, timber-lined interiors, separate bathroom and kitchen facilities, and a wood or gas fireplace. Some have a luxurious spa bath and mountain views. Moss-covered trees surround all of the cabins, and they are set apart from one another to ensure your privacy and seclusion.
In addition to the cabins, there is a main reception building with friendly and helpful staff, a communal barbecue area, and a guest laundry. Free parking is available on-site.
Whether you are an independent traveller, a family or a small group, whether you are on a romantic honeymoon, or just looking for a convenient base from which to explore Dove Lake and the Cradle Mountain National Park, Cradle Highlander has a cabin to suit you.
