Such a cosy cabin!! Love the warm fire and rustic setting. Three paddy's and a balck bird that sounds like my cat paid us a visit. A cheeky possum tried very hard to come inside last night - i guess the warmth was appealing. Such a lovely environment to be in - in contrast to Qld.

We stayed at Highlander Cottages in “ButtonGrass“ early October 2010.

From the moment we drove in we fell in love with the quiet and romantic surroundings, with the remaining snow only adding to this magical atmosphere.

The cabin was warm and well presented, the cheese board and champagne that we had arranged was delicious, in fact everything was immaculate (we particularly liked the wooden toilet roll holder !).

The smell of woodsmoke, and the adorable Padmelons hopping around further enhanced the feeling of being surrounded by nature.

The Staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and the facilities were good.

Cradle Mt National Park was breathtaking and the 7 hour walk we completed was immensely enjoyable, topped off by spectacular weather, and a sighting of a platypus !

Along with the Tasmainian devil centre, glorious scenery and a homely cabin we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights spent at Highlanders, and would thoroughly recommend it to those who want a relaxing and romantic get away.

WOW WOW WOW, we had some flight issues so were arriving later than expected. Imagine our delight in arriving to a nice warm cabin. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we wish we had longer to explore and enjoy ourselves for longer. We will definately be back and know where we will be staying and recommending!!

Well what a great decision to come to Cradle Mountain only 2 weeks ago. We decided we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of the melbourne suburbs. I was hoping we'd see some snow as my hubby had never seen snow before - did we get a shock!! There was snow everywhere, and thankfully the kind hosts gave us some gum boots to borrow! The woodfire in the cabin was perfect and it was nice to see some pademelons this morning. The enchanted walk was beautiful. A meal a the lodge tavern was also nice. Today we managed to use our car after the road conditions improved and visited the Marakoopa cave - highly recommend it! Also stocked up on honey from chudleigh.Wonderful hosts, thanks guys

When we planned our brief stop over at Cradle mountain we thought we might see some snow on mountain tops. What a fantastic surprise to drive up through banks of snow on the roadsides, with snow right up to our cabin at Highlanders! Truly spectacular for Queenslanders. Lanceolata was warm, cosy and welcoming. with cheerful hosts to help get our car in. We took an explorers tour and trudged through amble deep snow around Dove Lake and Gustav's chalet. What an experience to remember.

My god, one night here and we get snowed in! Cabins are great and scenery amazing. Owners fantastic in digging out snow to get our little hire car out!! From WA where we never see snow!!

A big thank you for such a wonderful cabin. As trip advisor.com and all other entries in this book, this is a real luxury after a day of hiking and walking out in the cold. The fireplace, heated blankets and toilet really makes on feel at home during winter. Kudo to the team for their thoughtfulness for starting the fire before we arrived. This is indeed a cosy, warm cabin to stay in. Thank you and i'll be back again for sure.
