Self Catering Cabin Accommodation Details & Inclusions
All cottages have well equipped kitchens, private bathrooms, TV/DVD, clock radio, electric blankets, hair dryers and pure Tasmanian mountain water on tap. Four cabins have gas heating and the remainder have wood fires. There are also two cabins which are wheelchair accessible. There is a communal BBQ shelter with gas BBQ and a guest laundry. Portable BBQs can also be set up on your deck or verandah for a small fee. WiFi is available and a selection of DVD movies can be hired free.
All the Cradle Mountain Highlanders Cottages include towels and linen and are serviced daily.
Cradle Mountain Meals, Food & Supplies
Complimentary milk, instant coffee, tea bags, sugar and basic seasonings are provided in all cabins.
Breakfast Baskets
Continental breakfast baskets containing toasted muesli, cereals, toast bread, gourmet spreads, yoghurt, milk and juice are available for $12.00 per person.
Hearty breakfast baskets containing all of the above plus country bacon (air-dried), free range eggs, local mushrooms, and tomatoes are available for $15.00 per person (minimum one week advance order and two persons).
Coffee and Chocolates
Ground coffee can be purchased from Reception. Coffee plungers are supplied in all cabins.
Port and D'Anvers truffles, and dark orange chocolates can also be purchased from Reception.
Wine & Beer
A good selection of Tasmanian and Australian mainland wines and Tasmanian beer can be purchased from Reception.
Cook Your Own
Shopping is very limited in the Cradle Mountain wilderness area. If you wish to cook in your cabin it is recommended that you purchase any groceries or fresh food before you arrive. The last places to shop are Sheffield or Deloraine (coming from Hobart, Launceston or Devonport), Burnie (coming from Wynyard or Stanley) and Rosebery (coming from Strahan or Queenstown).
Dining Out At Cradle Mountain
There are four restaurants and one café within a 1.5 km radius of Highlanders Cottages. Cradle Mountain Lodge offers formal dining at its Highland Restaurant and counter meals at the Tavern. The Cradle Mountain Hotel offers a casual buffet or a la carte dining at Quolls Restaurant and formal dining at its Grey Gums Restaurant. The Hotel is located about 1 km before you get to Highlanders Cottages and the Lodge is almost the same distance past Highlanders Cottages. Hellyers Restaurant is located around 500 metres from Cradle Mountain Highlanders Cottages and you can also walk 200 metres from us to the café at the Visitor Centre for lunch or a snack.
Cabin Accommodation Indicative Rates
All cabins are supplied with linen, towels, tea, coffee and milk and are serviced daily.
Continental breakfast baskets are available for $12.00 per person and hearty breakfast baskets for $15.00 per person (minimum one week advance order and two persons).
Infants under 2 years of age are free and children aged 2 to 13 are $25.00 per night. Extra adults and children aged 14 and over are $35.00 per night. Cots with linen are available for hire for $10.00.

Cabin Accommodation Rates Details
All rates are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of GST. Rates are subject to change and accommodation type is subject to availability. Up to date rates are displayed on our cabin availability page.
Low Season extends from 1st May through to the 30th September.
High Season starts on the 1st October and extends through to the 30th April.
Peak Season rates apply from 24th December to 31st January and Good Friday through to Easter Tuesday.
Minimum Stay Requirements: A minimum stay of two nights applies to Peak Season bookings and on long weekends. A surcharge of $30.00 will apply to one night bookings during these periods.

Cabin Accommodation Booking & Confirmation
Check out real time availability and book on-line via our secure booking system. This is the quickest way of securing your booking. Alternatively, you can contact us with your preferred cabin and dates using an enquiry form.
When you make a booking with Cradle Mountain Highlanders you will be required to secure the booking with a 50% deposit at the time of booking with the balance payable on arrival.
Accommodation Terms and Conditions:
- 50% deposit is required on booking
- Balance payable on arrival
- Deposits can be paid by credit card, cheque, money order or direct deposit
- All cancellation requests must be in writing
- Deposits (less a $35.00 administration fee) will be refunded if 7 days notice of cancellation is given (with the exception of the Christmas and Easter holiday periods, for which 30 days notice is required)
- Cancellations within 7 days of arrival (or 30 days for Christmas or Easter holidays) will forfeit deposit
- Non-arrivals will forfeit deposit and any remaining nights may be re-sold
- Requests for changes to dates booked will be treated as a request to cancel the original booking and make a fresh booking.
- We suggest guests purchase travel insurance to cover cancellations due to unforseen circumstances.
- An additional cleaning fee up to $50.00 may be charged where cottages are left in an excessively dirty state, or where guests choose not to wash and dry used dishes prior to departure.
How to pay your deposit:
Deposits can be paid by credit card, cheque, money order or direct deposit.
If paying by credit card, you can telephone us with the number or fax or email it to us, or you can book and pay via our secure on-line reservations system.
Cheques and money orders should be made out to Cradle Mountain Highlanders and posted to Cradle Mountain Highlanders, 3876 Cradle Mountain Road, Cradle Mountain TAS 7306. For direct deposits, please contact us for bank account details.
Once your deposit has been received we will send you written confirmation of your booking.
